Alexander graham bell, the inventor of the telephone was a good friend and companion to Helen. He remained a great support to her.

Dr. Alexander Graham Bell first met Helen when she was 6 years old and her parents brought her to him for advice on how to teach her. this meeting was not only the beginning of a long friendship between Dr. bell and Helen, but it also proved to be the foundation of Helen's education and life. In fact, Helen has dedicated her autobiography "The story of my life" to him. She has mentioned his sympathetic and tender nature that made her love him from her first visit itself. It was at his suggestion that Helen's father wrote to Mr. Anagnos and subsequently found Miss Sullivan as a teacher for Helen She visited him at his home and laboratory. He appears to be a wonderful and patient teacher who could instill enthusiasm and interest in his students. he was a humorous person and had love for children, particularly those who were deaf. his teaching methods for children were motivating and encouraging. Dr. bell could understand Helen's signs and acted like a door through which Helen could pass from darkness to light. He remained a good friend to Helen and Miss Anne Sullivan and accompanied them on a trip to the world fare. He was a true and lifelong friend who helped Helen whenever she needed it.

Miss Anne Sullivan can rightly be called Anne's guide, mentor and teacher. she brought about a sweeping change in Helen's life and made her feel that there was an immeasurably contrast between her two lives - before and after the arrival of miss sullivan. she made her transcend her physical barriers. She taught her to communicate by spellings the words on her hands with her fingers. Her angelic touch, meticulous planing, deep commitment worked wonders for Helen. She started understanding the world in a better way and developed an optimistic approach towards life. learning was made playful by the instructional and innovative ideas of Miss Sullivan. All the subjects whether it was history, botany, geography or Zoology were made easier by Anne Sullivan's  teaching in play - way manner. Helen never felt that she was being educated. rather she believed that she was a little mass of possibilities which were unfold and developed by miss sullivan. Helen felt that before her education, she was like a ship without compass or sounding line and had no way of knowing how near the harbor was but Anne Sullivan's advent in her life took away all the bitterness from her life and brought a fresh breeze of joy and love in the life of Helen.

The story of my life depicts the story of a girl named Helen Keller who has become a source of inspiration not only for the disabled but also for the whole world. At the age of nineteen months, unfortunately, she lost the gifts, to see and hear due to falling seriously sick. After this, the world became dark and silent for her. but she did not hold her destiny responsible for what happened to her instead, she worked hard. she did not succumb to her disability. Helen set en example for everyone by overcoming the all challenges that came in her life. she became a famous american author, political activist, an lecturer. she was a woman of many traits such as passion to learn, determination to achieve her goals and, strength to face obstacles.  They made her special and different from others.
